it’s sad to. I actually like the idea behind it, even the odder moments. It works best as a ‘black ass comedy game’ mind, so it’s weird to me that the guy wanted to make it more serious. I mean, having moments of it would be fine and all, but I mean, the game was called Yandere Simulator and you got currency by taking panty shots. Sure, the latter was MEANT to be pretty gross and it hurts your reputation, but still.

A normal person would’ve made it as a silly little meme game where you help a girl get with her crush by murdering all the opposition. Alex Mahan is not a normal person.

His frankly disturbing internet footprint and penchant for constant drama, combined with his complete lack of skills and personal discipline ensured that his project was doomed from the start. He has zero social skills and substitutes anime for real life, and simply cannot understand why people would think his shit is weird and out-of-place.

He can’t even copy anime right, given that he just skips over the whole “dere” aspect of the yandere archetype (I mean, it’s just half of the entire concept), and instead of focusing on the core features of his game, just keeps throwing in more and more pointless nonsense he stole from whatever game he played last.

Maybe he wouldn’t be such a laughing stock if he actually put some effort into his game instead of constantly getting involved with pointless drama and putting up YouTube videos on how he is totally justified in anything and it’s just the haters’ fault.

Oh yeah, they were DEFINITELY advertisements on the FE part. I remember the shit show that started due to how horribly localized fucking FE Fates was. and then it’s revealed the mc is in the game. stellar -.-

Basically every FE character aside from Marth was chosen to advertise the latest-and-(not-so)-greatest game in the series. Roy’s case was especially funny given that Melee was released like half a year before Roy’s actual game.

Honestly, I think the only exception to the advertisement rule would be Villager and Isabelle, the latter of whom had her introduction trailer to Smash LITERALLY END with it being announced that there’s a new Animal Crossing game for the switch. But that’s mainly because AC is a pretty peaceful ass game, and she herself became oddly almost like the mascot of the franchise even though she was only in the the latest game of the title.

I don’t see how Villager could be considered an advertisement character, since Animal Crossing was already over a decade old by the time of SSB4′s release. Isabelle also made sense as a second rep, because like you said, she’s more-or-less the mascot of Animal Crossing at this point. She’s also not really associated with any specific game, like the Fire Emblem characters were.

hm, the best thing about YanDev and his project is the people he works with tbh. Michaela Laws, the va for the main protag Ayano, is a cool person with a surprising amount of drive. I also like the main character artist (the one who made the 2D art of the characters, etc). I hope I get to see them in more stuff tbh, they both have some skills.

I doubt that, since anyone who worked on this project will now have a permanent black stain on their career involving a horrible manchild and his complete garbage fire of a project.

I don’t know what their current involvement with him is, but I would argue that anyone with the least amount of sense would drop him like a hot potato, since absolutely nothing good can come from associating yourself with Alex Mahan. Doubly so since Yandere Simulator will never see an actual release given Mahan’s awful work ethic and complete lack of project management skills.

Idk, Persona is a major Tensei sub series. And I doubt Atlus will EVER let us forget 3, 4 and 5. That being said, I do agree. Either that or make the ‘fighter’ actually “fighters” and have it literally be all the PT working together. By himself is fine to, but I’d like a hybrid fighter ala Duck Hunt again. That being said, Jack Frost is cuter, and I doubt we’re gonna get a “shirtless Joker” outfit so it’s not like he has that going for him. So I would have prefered Jack

I think everyone would’ve preferred Jack. He’s iconic and possesses ridiculous amounts of meme power.

Honestly, I feel like one of the problems with Joker as a fighter is that he isn’t really all that interesting himself. Atlus has a pretty consistent issue that their mail characters are usually the least interesting characters in their game, in large part due to the self-insert aspect, but with Persona I feel that while the series as a whole is fine, individual entries feel like they’re a flavour-of-the-month and don’t really have much staying power.

It’s a bit like all the Fire Emblem characters that keep getting into Smash. Most of them aren’t from interesting games, and won’t have any lasting impact on video game history, and when a character feels more like advertisement than a meaningful addition to the cast, I just end up resenting them, which helps nobody.

Just about the only positive thing I can say about Joker is that Sega/Atlus probably won’t mistreat him as much as Cloud was.

Like, holy shit, just two songs and they’re both just straight rips from the game? Who thought that was a good idea?
